THE ONE WITH THE INVESTIGATORS IN INDIA?!?!
Yall. This week has been something else 😂😂 so first off im training Hermana Cornejo haha turns out Rosada is her 2nd last name, and shes from peru!! She súper awesome and has a lot of enthusiasm for the work so we're doing good! Also we're out here in Santa Lucia in a cambio de fe (whitewash) so basically i NEVER know where im at haha so thats stressful especially when youre training and your poor companion just follows you in your lostness because she has no other choice 😂😂😂 Alsoooooo we didnt have our área book like AT ALL the first few days so i was really really stressed out because well...no one likes knocking doors all day everyday, i mean i get that its part of the whitewash but i dont want my companion to dread her training 😂😂😂 so we've just been visiting members and asking EVERYONE for people to visit...even the people we contact haha its been a struggle and a half.
The experience of the white wash: so because we are new in the area, we use the area book to know who the people we're teaching are and allll that so thats where we went to look...except we couldn't do that because well...we have phones now...so the area book is allllll in the area book app, so i was like alright thats a fat bet lets go...so i get to logging in and well...my login was still programmed to the area book in melo. so i was like carramba what am i gonna do now hahaha then i was like well lets visit all the presidents of all the organizations and see if they can help us out so i get to logging into lds tools...also still programmed to my ward in melo...and i was like stressing out this whole time and then hermana ridenour came in and she was like are you guys okay haha and i was like noooooo and i explained the whole situation and she was like well i cant help you with the area book but i can help you find the people in the ward (cause we share a ward with the 2 other hermanas in the house) so we finally got the addresses we needed and visited them and asked for people to visit and everything was good! then when the information for the area book finally switched over and i could see who our investigators are none of them have have addresses...the ones who do dont even live in uruguay one lives supposedly in chile, one in new york...and 3 in INDIA!!!!!! what the bruh???? hahaha i was so confused hahah and in ward coorilation they were like hows your investigators and i was like idk man i gotta go all the way to india to learn that info hahhahhaa but other than that its been quite the adventure over here in the UY.
que tengan una buena semana!!! chau chauuuu!!!

THE ONE WHERE I GO TO SANTA LUCIA AND NOT THE BAPTISM
Sooooooo...this week was actually really good! We found a couple new people to teach and thats gonna be really awesome for the area...they're super super capo like they could be the next baptisms in Gianola B(autismo)...speaking of Gianola B (my area)...IM LEAVING!!! I'm getting transferred to another area closer to montevideo called Santa Lucia!! I heard its really pretty there but alsoooooo ill be training a new missionary named Hermana Rosada!!!! I'm so excited because im pretty sure i dont have to teach spanish for now haha but we'll see.
As far as the baptism last week went...everything was PERFECT it was all set in stone and elder haws (the district leader) told us her interview was VERY good and that she was very prepared and so we were like okay this baptism is going to happen and we were super excited and everything...wellthe day of the baptism we put in the relief society group chat that there's a baptism and that they should all go because Maria Estela is 19 and needs the support from all the sisters cause shes going to be the only member in her family and well...we recived a message 10 mins later informing us that one of the more elderly sisters in the ward had passed away earlier that morning and that her funeral was going to be the same day at the same time as the baptism...and we were like well crap delet the message before the whole world sees it and we were rushing and rushing and then we were like...Crap Maria Estela!! so we were like what are we going to do...and then we remembered that the elders were going to have a baptism the same day so we were like, she can just get baptised with the other baptism if theyre going to use the church for the funeral...but when it all comes down to it, we didnt have the baptism, we moved it to this next saturday so that it wouldnt be a messy baptism or disrespectful to the family of the sister...also itd be pretty whack if no one from her own ward showed up to the baptism because everyone was at the funeral...so i wont be going to the baptism because ill be 6 hours away. the funeral was really beautiful and Hermana Alba has a special place in my heart because she was the first person to say hello to me at church and she was always always so happy to share with us and her family became some of our best friends so it was pretty sad.
on the lighter side tho, at least maria estela is gonna get baptized, Martin got the priesthood and is going to bless the sacrament this week, and we reactivated 6 families...i think we've done some good work here in Gianola and im very proud of the progress the area has made and can say that im leaving the area better than how i found it (:
anyways les quiero muchoo y que tengan una buena semana!!!

THE ONE WHERE THEY POISONED OUR WATER!
Well...this week was HOT weve been at 106 degrees EVERY DAY this week with a whoollleeeeee bunch of humidity!!!! Its an adventure for sure haha we're in the street almost 12 tours a day and you cant escape the heat...its like camping except the mission edition. Air conditioning is only a thing the rich people here have so we dont even have that lol so cold showers twice a day are the only way we're surviving. Also...we drink A LOT of water because its so hot so sometimes we ask people for water to start contacts and well...im scared to do that now because we were like alright lets ask them for water and they were kinda a little bit sketchy but we have filters so we were like we'll be fine...they hand us our water and we finished the contact and when we walked away we started drinking our water and AUTOMATICALLY we were like what kind of water is this and it tasted like carbonated water but with a BUTT TON of salt but it burned our throats and i was like what the bruh is this 😂😂😂 so i took another swig to figure out what it was and i was about to throw up so i opened the bottle and i had the strongest wave of beach smell ever so of course i poured it out and get this...IT WAS YELLOW. This person just put pure bleach in our bottles lol...im pretty sure we arent going back there...
Anyways on a lighter note, we are supposed to have a baptism this week!!! So thats exciting!!! Its the first baptism my área will have had since february 2019!!! Im so excited to make a lil bit of history here!
New Years in Uruguay
Yall new Years here is so wild...in the states december 31 and January 1 are like normal days...but here everything shuts down at around 5 p.m. on december 31 and stays closed until 2 of january...literally nothing here is open right now so thats no fun haha but its fine.
We spent new Years with the family of Regina! (I did divisions with here when i was in my training) shes on her mission in Brasil now but i got to know the rest of her family and theyre súper capo!! We had a barbeque with them and then when i went to share a spiritual thought the Dad was like actually i wanna share it and it was so awesome!!! He talked a lot about the mercy of Jesus Christ and it was SUPER BUENOOOOOO.
FELIZ AÑO A TODO Y ESPERO QUE TENGAN UN AÑO BUENO!!!!!!!

THE ONE WERE I WROTE A SONG BUT ITS NOT ABOUT CHRISTMAS (BTW FELIZ CHRISTMAS)
Holaaaaa...okay wow actually a lot happened this week sooooo we had a huge christmas celebración with half the mission...it was literally huge and it was sooooo amazing!! We did a little program with songs and speakers...well i knew i was speaking but i didnt realize i was the first one!!! So that was interesting, but i saw a lot of friends there and it was súper great! This week has also been pretty stressful because we had to go house hunting...we had to find a house in 1 day do that we could be ready to move in by this week...well obviously we arent moving in this week because contracts take a lil bit but we found a really nice apartament so menos mal. Also we did A LOT of caroling...and i mean A LOT lol but it was fun haha cause we did it with service so we did a lot of service this week so that was really awesome!
Christmas un Uruguay
So way down here in the UY its summer time...so we dont do a lot of things the same...first off christmas eve is called noche buena...and no one does christmas pjs or christmas eve presents...everyone gets together in their huge families and has a huge barbeque...like huge. And everyone stays up instead of going to bed early because at midnight everyone lets off fireworks...so at midnight last night our sky was full of all the colors possible for legit 10 mins straight!! It was awesomeeeeee haga
Alsooooo i wrote a songggg anddddd well its not anything special bc the quality of the phone isnt that good but its not done getting worked on yet anyways haha but when its done a video is comin your wayyyyyy haha
Feliz Christmasssssss!!!!

THE ONE ABOUT MY FIRST TIME
Holaaaaaa!!! This week felt so long because it was SO busy haha so first off on tuesday i had an interview with el presidente de la misión and it was súper good...found lut im speaking in front of the whole mission on thursday this week at the Christmas conference sooooo that will be interesting haha and then right after the interview i had to leave to go to Montevideo to finish doing my cédula (im oficially Uruguaya for the next 18 months haha) so that was fun and we stayed in a HOTEL! The hotel was súper lindo and its probs the best shower ive had in my whole mission if im being honest lolllll but yeah i got to see the beach while i was there and that just made me so so happy because I LOVE THE BEACH! Thursday we visited an old folks home and sang christmas songs to them and they loved it...well all except this one little ole lady who told us we were making her head hurt lol...i like to believe she liked it too lol. Friday I had intercambios with hermana johansen (: shes from utah...we literally had nothing planned that day so we just put people down to go visit and i have no idea how it happened but NO ONE WAS HOME lollll so basically we just took an 8 hour walk in the sun knocking doors and talking to the gente, so that was productive, then that night we got on a bus to Montevideo to go to the temple!!!
THE STORY OF MY FIRST TIME
So while we were at the temple it was so fun! We saw the pesebre (im pretty sure its called a nativity in english) and it was so pretty! Ive never seen the pesebre at a temple before! But anyways while we were waiting to go into the temple i met this family from idaho whos traveling the world to visit all the temples... the Uruguay Montevideo Temple is their 43rd temple in a year!!!! And get this...THEYRE DRIVING THE WHOLE TIME WITH 3 LITTLE KIDS!!! I dont know how they have patience for that lol but it was cool to hear some english after all this time. So this is where the cool part starts...so we got into the temple with our ward and they were like alright are you guys doing baptisms and we were like nah we're just here to help and they were like perfect you guys are going to be TESTIGOS (witnesses)!!!! Yall. I was a witness in the temple for baptisms!! Ive bever even been a witness for a regular baptism but its so cool that my first time was in the temple!!!! At first we were sitting in the witness chairs and waiting for the youth to come out from changing and i was just sitting there looking at the water and i was like wait im literally a lifegaurd again but like in the spiritual sense haha because im literally watching and making sure an ordinance is being done correctly so that someone else can begin receiving their heavenly blessings!! So that was really fun for me and also really special!
Thats about all i have for the week!!! Hope Hall have a good one!
Con amor,
Hermana Anderson
P.S. if you havent seen it already, this is the Christ Child video...ITS THE BEST ONE THEYVE EVER MADE SO I INVITE ALL OF YOU TO WATCH IT IF YOU HAVENT ALREADY!!!! Its something we've been watching a lot out here and every time it makes me want to cry soooo its worth it!

THE ONE WHERE I CHOKED ON A BUG
This week we had cambiossss and guess what? IM STAYING WITH THE COLOMBIANA!!! Im súper excited tbh haha. I turned 7 months in the mission on saturday and so that was fun! Turns out December 7 is dÃa de las velitas in Colombia so we celebrated my cumplemes with candles like the colombianos and then we put up the cute lil christmas tree my mom sent me and its súper cuteeee and its christmas and i love it haha
One of our goals this cambio is to get up every morning and go running and so weve been doing that and this guy in one of the other wars saw us running and he was like "OIIIII SIIIIIII VAMOS ARRIBA HERMANASSSSSSS" hahaha so that was really funny and really fun and ive started getting back into vertical training so when i go back home i wont have lost all my vertical and yeahhhhh im súper exciteddddd yo keep running cause i like doing that!
This week Sylvia came to church again and brought PEPE with her!!!! They are progressing SO FAST like its so crazy...every time we have charlas with them theyve read more of the book of mormon than we asked them to and theyre already in 1 nefi 13 after 1 week!!!! Theyre FLYING frfr #milagros
Really not much else happened this week but funny story: so we were walking to the church the other day to do studies and i had this HUGE sneeze that like almost knocked me over but when i breathed in right before the sneeze a bug flew into my mouth and i started choking and i couldnt breathe for like 30 seconds and my companion was just laughing ar me and the cute old man on the porch where it happened laughed at me too 😂😂😂 and yeah that happened lol but hope everyone has a good week this week!!!

THE ONE WHERE I GOT ORDERED TO MARRY SOMEONE IN THE STREET...
Hola hola gente como están? Este semana fue bien locaso!!! A bunch of crazy things happened haha...so on tuesday we were just working a normal day nothing too exciting, wednesday too, found lots of people to teach and taught a bunch of people too and all the charlas were súper good! Thursday we had a district meeting and another choque de fuerza (where all the missionaries in the zone do contacts in one single area) and literally it was so hot that day and NO ONE OPENED THE DOOR. How does that just happen???? Like we knocked whole entire streets and no one opened the door!! Lets just say it was really sad 😂 also we had our own little thanksgiving where we had rotisary chicken, mashed potatoes, veggies, and stuffing too, fue bien bueno de verdad. On friday we had to get on a bus at 1 a.m. un the morning to go to Montevideo for a multizona conference with Elder Benjamin De Hoyos of the 70!!! Lets just say this man is SUPER CAPO!!! He taught us A LOT of really good things we can use to be better missionaries for the people we teach and it was just súper súper good! Saturday, lets just say this was probs one of the more crazy things thats happened while on my mission, so saturday is a normal day and we're just walking to one of our charlas and this guy comes up behind us and was like "wow you guys are so precious" and kept going and we were like what haha and then like 30 feet in front of us he stops his bike and gets off so we go to start turning a córner we didnt need to take cause we know this cant be good and hes like "Walt can i talk to you guys?" And we're like bueno so we walk to go talk to him and he sits down on this bench and hes like here sit down and we're like Ah nah we're okay standing and hes like okay so then he starts telling us about personal "needs" that were súper pero súper bad...like really bad, and then he goes "i just need a woman to give me what i want" and we were like alright we're gonna go now and he started yelling at us and he was like "YOU" and he pointing at me and hes like "I WANT YOU TO MARRY ME! CAN YOU DO THAT?" and i was like you know im gonna go think about it over there and then we zoomed out because that was not a good situation to be in...im pretty sure he was on drugs or something haha but like...que raro. On sunday we went to church and we were waiting for someone name MartÃn to come and then this Lady that we had been teaching and the dropped Named Sylvia came walking in and i was SO HAPPY!!! Shd was so cute haha and yesterday we had a charla with her and it was the first charla we've had with her where she actually listened to us teach and didnt talk about random things!!! But yeah yall this was my week haha hope you guys have a good week next week!!
Con amor, hermana Anderson
